Karnal: Senior Congress leader and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and State President Udaybhan will participate as chief guests in the Punjabi Maha Sammelan in Karnal, Haryana, today. This conference is being organized by the National Punjab Mahasabha. Its main objective is to increase the political participation of the Punjabi community and raise the demand for their social upliftment.
National President of Punjabi Mahasabha Ashok Mehta and former minister Subhash Batra said that the Maha Sammelan will set an example of brotherhood in Haryana and will try to give the Punjabi community a fair share in politics. He said that in the conference, many major demands of the Punjabi community will be placed before former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda and Congress President Udaybhan, in which the demand for the formation of the Punjabi Welfare Board is prominent.
Former minister Subhash Batra said that despite the hard work of the Punjabi community, many people are backward, and the formation of a board is very important for their welfare. Batra has also demanded that Congress to field more Punjabi candidates in the assembly elections so that the Punjabi community can get proper respect and representation.
