New Delhi: Haryana-Punjab’s Shambhu border will not open yet. On Monday, the Supreme Court heard the matter. The Supreme Court said that court is forming a high-power committee, but is not deciding any issues. The high power committee also includes officials from Punjab and Haryana which will talk with farmers on borders.

Supreme Court constituted a high power committee headed by a former Punjab and Haryana High Court judge to look into the issues of the agitating farmers at the Shambhu border near Ambala, where they have been camping since February 13. SC asked the high power committee to frame the issues after meeting with the agitating farmers.
SC further added that the high-power committee should reach out to the agitating farmers and request them to remove their tractors. The Supreme Court also advised that this matter should not be politicized. Issues are very sensitive, so a balanced approach should be adopted. SC asked member secretary of the high power committee to place on record the advance status report on the next hearing.

In the last 2 hearings, the Supreme Court had asked to open the Shambhu border partially i.e. one lane. In this matter, farmers also had a meeting with the officials of Punjab and Haryana, which remained inconclusive.

Haryana Police said that farmers should go to Delhi, but should not take tractors. Farmers remained adamant on going with tractors.
