Sirsa: In Sirsa, Haryana, a sanitation worker of Sirsa Municipal Council who was bringing cow meat in bags from Rajasthan was arrested by the Chaupata police. One of his companions managed to escape from the spot. Chaupata police station has registered an FIR on the complaint of Bajrang Dal Haryana State Milan Center chief Surendra Poonia. The police are investigating the matter.
According to the information, Bajrang Dal Haryana State Milan Center chief Surendra Poonia got information on Sunday afternoon that two people were killing animals, taking out their meat and filling it in bags, and coming towards Chaupata on a bike. He immediately informed the Chaupata police station about this. After this, Surendra reached the canal located at Baruwali II.
Meanwhile, the police also reached the spot. After some time, a bike was seen coming from Fefana. On seeing the police, the person sitting behind the bike and the driver left the bike and started running towards the fields. The police chased them and caught the driver, while the other accomplice managed to escape.
When the police questioned the driver, he was identified as Babulal, a resident of Housing Board Sirsa. He said that he is a sanitation worker at Sirsa Municipal Council. When the police searched the bag tied to the bike, it was found to be filled with meat. Surendra told the police that this meat appeared to be cow meat. After this, the police arrested the driver, Babulal.
Police investigating officer ASI Bhoop Singh says that a case has been registered against the accused, Babulal, under the Haryana Cow Protection and Cow Slaughter Act. The accused will be produced in court, and police remand will be obtained. The youth who fled from the spot is being searched.
The accused, Babu Lal, has told the police that he bought this meat from Ilyas, a resident of Nohar, Rajasthan. Ilyas lives on the old police station road. The police say that the meat has been sent for investigation.
