The administration has come into action after complaints of corruption prevailed in the Sonipat Municipal Corporation. Taking major action, the corporation commissioner has transferred 40 clerks and other employees who were sitting on the same seat for a long time with immediate effect. Also, strict instructions have been issued to the new employees to settle the pending files on a priority basis.
Complaints of corruption were continuously reaching the officials against some employees working in the Municipal Corporation. There were allegations that these employees used to make the common people run around again and again for their work, and in some cases, the matter of taking bribes also came to light. Taking these complaints seriously, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner has taken this big step.
He has transferred 40 clerks, assistant employees and data entry operators working at the same place in the corporation for a long time. The main objective of this transfer is to bring transparency in the functioning of the corporation and curb corruption. The transferred employees include 40 clerks, 2 assistants and 13 data entry operators. Apart from this, 11 new employees have also joined the corporation.
The Corporation Commissioner has given strict instructions to the new employees who have replaced the transferred employees to settle the hundreds of pending files on priority basis. He has also said that if any employee is found keeping the files pending, he will be asked for a written reply.
This step of the Corporation Commissioner has been taken with the aim of providing relief to the general public and improving the functioning of the Corporation, so that people’s work can be done on time and without any hassle.
