Jind: The team of Hansi Anti Narcotics Cell of Hisar district has recovered a huge amount of ganja near village Rajthal in the Narnaund area. Hansi police is running a special campaign against drugs. Under which the police have arrested two accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Manbir and Rambhaag, residents of Igrah in Jind district.
Narnaund police station has registered a case against both the accused under the NDPS Act. Out of which one accused was produced in court and sent to jail while the other accused has been taken on an 8-day police remand.
ASI Surajmal posted in the Anti-Narcotics Cell said that during patrolling, a vehicle was stopped on suspicion from village Rajthal on Kagsar Road and questioned; then, on the spot, a search was conducted as per rules in front of duty magistrate Tehsildar Narnaund Tarun Prakash. During the search, 11 kg and 202 grams of ganja were recovered from the possession of both the accused. Police have taken both the accused into custody and registered a case under the NDPS Act at Narnaund police station.
He said that the police had also taken the drug smugglers’ vehicle into its possession. After presenting the accused in court, one accused, Rambhaj, has been sent to jail. The other accused, Manbir, has been taken on an 8-day police remand. During the remand, the accused will be questioned thoroughly as to where he brought the narcotic substance from and to whom he was to supply it. Information will also be gathered about this.
