Youth drowned in Rohtak canal found after 36 hours

Rajesh lodged a complaint at Shivaji Colony police station about his son drowning in the canal.

Haryana: The body of a youth from Kamla Nagar who drowned in a canal in Rohtak has been found near village Baland. He had left home to go to the gym. But later he went to the canal to take a bath with his friends.

During this, he drowned in the canal due to strong currents. As soon as this was known, the family, police and NDRF team started searching.

But no trace of him could be found for a long time. According to the police, the youth drowned at around 8 pm on May 31 and 36 hours later on June 2, at around 8 am, his body was found in the JLN canal near village Baland. The place where the body of the youth was found is about 8 km away from the place of drowning.

Rajesh, a resident of Kamla Nagar in Rohtak, lodged a complaint at Shivaji Colony police station about his son drowning in the canal. In the complaint, he told that he has 3 children (2 boys and a girl). His middle son Dev, around 21 years old, is studying B.Sc Nursing. Dev had gone from home to practice in the gym on Friday.

At around 8 pm, information was received that his son drowned while bathing at Parahwar Head. He had gone to Parahwar Head with his friends to bathe. During this time, he was swept away by the strong current in the canal and drowned. As soon as this was known, the search for Dev was started.

Investigating officer of Shivaji Colony police station Shraddhanand said that information was received about Kamala Nagar resident Dev drowning in the canal. After this, the police reached the spot and started searching. The NDRF team was also called. Dev’s body has been found in the JLN canal near village Baland.
