Truck full of illegal English liquor caught in Panipat

Smuggling from Himachal to Bihar: 970 boxes worth 60 lakhs recovered, driver-conductor arrested. 

Panipat: In Panipat, Haryana, the police have caught a truck full of illegal English liquor boxes. The CIA-3 police team has taken action on the road leading from Chautala Road to Gaushala. The police arrested the accused truck driver and conductor on the spot.

970 boxes of illegal English liquor have been recovered from the truck. Illegal liquor was being smuggled from Paonta Sahib in Himachal to Bihar. The accused have been identified as driver Subodh, a resident of Bahawalpur Vaishali, and the conductor has been identified as Sachin, a resident of Madeideh Vaishali, Bihar.

When the police team removed the tarpaulin covering the truck, boxes filled with illegal liquor in large quantities were found. On asking for the license and permit of the liquor, the accused could not produce any documents. The accused had placed sacks filled with Chunna soil at the back of the truck and kept the liquor in front of it. When the boxes were counted in the presence of the excise team, 970 boxes of Black Tiger Blender were found.

Inspector Deepak said that during interrogation, the accused told them that a youth in Vaishali, Bihar, had given them an empty truck and sent them to Paonta Sahib in Himachal to bring illegal liquor in it. For this work, the youth had given them 10 thousand rupees each. On reaching Paonta Sahib, another youth met them and took the empty truck from them.

The youth filled the truck with illegal liquor and handed over the truck to them at the same place after 2 days and left. Both of them were taking the truck full of liquor from Paonta Sahib to Vaishali in Bihar. Both the arrested accused will be produced in court on Saturday.
