Haryana: The provision of giving an additional 5 marks in government jobs in Haryana has been abolished. Punjab-Haryana High Court gave an important decision on Friday. The court declared reservation on a socio-economic basis unconstitutional. There was a provision of giving marks on socio-economic basis. 5 marks were given for government jobs. Many petitions were filed in the High Court against this. The court had reserved the decision on this. With this decision of the High Court, the way for the appointments that were stuck in the state has definitely been cleared.

In fact, in the petition filed in the High Court against the government’s socio-economic reservation, it was told that the state government has given reservation on socio-economic basis by going against the Constitution. Under this reservation, the Haryana government had made a provision to give the benefit of 5 additional marks on socio-economic basis to the applicant coming from a family in which no one is in a government job and the family income is low.

The High Court also put a stay on the appointments while hearing the petitions challenging the reservation on social and economic basis. With the settlement of the petition, the way for thousands of appointments in the state has been cleared. Not only this, this decision of the High Court will affect Group C and D as well as TGT recruitment. Now 5 marks will not be an advantage in these recruitments. At the same time, the recruitments in which appointment has been given on the basis of these marks can also be re-examined.
