Faridabad: The rivalry between the two communities has heated up in Faridabad, Haryana. On the night of June 28, temple priest and BJP worker Ravi Bhagat was attacked with a knife. It is alleged that this attack was carried out by people of a particular community, and while leaving, they also raised religious slogans. Ravi’s condition is critical. Meanwhile, people associated with Hindu organizations entered the house of an accused from the Muslim community and vandalized it. Police have registered a case against Bittu Bajrangi and three others for inciting religious sentiments and other sections.
Temple priest Ravi Bhagat was sleeping outside his house in Janta Colony of Faridabad on the night of June 28. Meanwhile, some people attacked him with a knife. There were knife wounds at several places on the body. His wife came out of the house and raised an alarm. After this, the attackers fled.
It is being claimed, quoting an eyewitness, that the attack was carried out by people of a particular community. While stabbing Ravi Bhagat, the attackers were chanting religious slogans like ‘Nara-e-Takbir’ and ‘Sar-tan-se-juda’. However, apart from the people from a particular community, the name of a youth from another community has also come up among those against whom the police have registered a case after the incident.
In this case, Saran police station has registered a case against Mehtab, Golu, Iqbal, Sajid, and Golu Wadhwa under sections 147, 148, 149, 323, 324, 452, and 506 of the IPC. Ravi Bhagat is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. His condition remains critical. Haryana minister Moolchand Sharma reached the hospital on Sunday to learn about his condition.
People got angry after the news of the stabbing of temple priest Ravi Bhagat in Faridabad. A crowd of people entered the house of the accused, Mehtab. The crowd entered the house, vandalized, and created a ruckus. Police have registered a case against Nikhil, Rahul, and Kajal under sections 147, 149, 452, 427, and 295 A for vandalizing the house.
Bittu Bajrangi, accused of Nuh violence, has also entered this fight in Faridabad. He posted a message on social media regarding the incident. It is alleged that he has tried to incite religious sentiments after this fight. Police have also registered a case against Bittu Bajrangi under sections 295 and 153A.
Faridabad Police has warned that whoever tries to incite or hurt religious sentiments, police will register a case against him and take further action.
