Rewari: The theft took place in Shiva temple, located in the village of Gadhi Alavalpur in the Rewari district of Haryana. Thieves stole the donation box of the temple, which contained about 40 thousand rupees in cash. When the villagers learned about the theft in the morning, they searched around. During this, the broken donation box was recovered from the field.
According to the information received, Azad Singh, a resident of village Gadhi Alavalpur, has lodged an FIR at the Sector-6 police station. He works as a cashier on the committee of the Shiva temple in his village. Last night, a theft took place at his temple. In the morning, when the devotees reached the temple to worship, the donation box was found missing.
This information was immediately given to the temple committee. After the information, apart from the committee members, the villagers also gathered in the temple. A search was done in the surrounding area. Then an empty, broken donation box was found lying in a field. It is suspected that the thieves stole the donation box and took away the cash from there. According to Azad Singh, he opens the donation box every year on Janmashtami.
