On Friday, a tractor-trolley crushed a bike rider on Karnal’s Mall Road, killing him on the spot. The deceased was a peon in the Municipal Corporation and was the father of three children. On receiving the information, Dial-112’s ERV 413 team immediately reached the spot. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for postmortem and the accused driver has been arrested at the spot.
The person who lost his life in the accident has been identified as 55-year-old Balbir Singh, a resident of Jatpura. He was working as a peon (peon) in Karnal Municipal Corporation for the last 10 to 12 years. Balbir was serving in the corporation under the Kaushal Rozgar Yojana.
Balbir Singh has left behind two sons and a daughter. His daughter is married. On receiving the news of the accident, the family reached the spot and became distraught with crying. Family members said that Balbir was returning home from work like every day when this accident happened.
The news of Balbir’s death has caused great anger among the employees of Karnal Municipal Corporation. Employees say that heavy vehicle drivers are driving recklessly on the road and the administration is not taking strict action in such cases. They have demanded that strict action be taken against the accused tractor-trolley driver.
