Retired employees of government departments held a two-hour symbolic demonstration under the banner of the Retired Employees Union Haryana at the Mini Secretariat of Hisar district. The employees submitted a demand letter to the district administration in the name of the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.
The Deputy Chief of the Union Om Prakash Saini said that the Finance Bill 2025 passed in the Lok Sabha on March 25 will harm the pensioners. Under this bill, the employees retiring till 31 December 2025 and the existing pensioners will not get the benefits of the Eighth Pay Commission. He said that more financial assistance is needed in old age.
Retired employee leader Manohar Lal Jakhar said that this demonstration is being done at all the district headquarters across the country. He warned that if the central government does not withdraw the bill, then a meeting of the All India Organization will be called and further strategy will be decided. Retired employees in all the districts have demonstrated and demanded immediate withdrawal of the bill. During the demonstration, the employees also raised slogans against the government.
