Himachal Pradesh: Voting is going on today for by-elections on four Lok Sabha and six assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh. Talking about the Una district, 30 per cent voting has taken place here till 11:00 am. Voters had reached most areas of the district for voting since 6:30 am. Voting started at 7 am. At the same time, voting started 2 hours later due to a technical fault in EVM in Mandwara polling booth of Gagret assembly constituency.
Due to this District Election Officer Una Jatin Lal has removed the presiding officer and sector officer for negligence in duty. 29.55per centt voting took place till 11:00 for the by-election in Kutlehar and Gagret assembly constituencies of the district.
On the other hand, voters of 5 booths in the Sundernagar assembly constituency of Mandi district had to face trouble. Due to malfunction of EVM machines at 5 booths in the area, some voters had to wait for hours and return home without casting their votes. The administration has hurriedly brought EVM machines to the spot and restarted the election process. Along with this, considering the seriousness of these incidents, DSP Sundarnagar and administration officials have reviewed the problem on the spot.
