Woman poisons to death in Hisar, case registered against five in laws including husband

Hisar: A case has been registered against five people including the husband, in the case of poisoning a married woman in Putti village of Narnaund sub-division of Hisar district of Haryana. The married woman died on Friday during treatment in a private hospital in Hisar. On Saturday, the body will be handed over to the family after post-mortem at the Civil Hospital of Hisar.

Umed Singh, a resident of village Bagan Wala in Bhiwani district, told the police in his statement he has three children, including the eldest son Amit, younger daughter 26-year-old Manju and younger than him Pawan Kumar. His daughter Manju was married to Mandeep, a resident of village Puthi, on 27 November 2023.  Umed alleged that in-laws of his daughter were harassing her and were demanding car and cash a dowry.

He even told in his statement that his daughter was not allowed to talk with her family. He added that on September 6, at around 8 am, he received a call from Puthi village that Manju’s life was in danger. As soon as he came to know about this, he left for Puthi. On the way, he came to know that Manju had been admitted to a private hospital in Hisar. He reached a private hospital in Hisar, where Manju was admitted in the ICU.

He told that his daughter told him that she had been poisoned and  was having a lot of pain in her chest. During the treatment, Manju died. Knowing all this, Manju’s father lodged a complaint. On the complaint of Manju’s father Umed Singh, the Bass police station has registered a case against Manju’s husband Mandeep, father-in-law Balwan, mother-in-law Kanta, sister-in-law Manisha and Meenu under sections 80(2), 123, 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code and has started investigation.
