A student of MLN College Yamunanagar, who had gone to visit Adibadri in Yamunanagar, drowned while bathing in the rainy canal. Four fellow students tried to save him, but failed. When the police were informed, Ranjitpur police called divers from Yamunanagar.
Divers Amar Singh, Ramkesh took out the body of the student trapped in the pool in the canal. The deceased was identified as Aditya Mahajan (20), a resident of Ramnagar, Saharanpur.
Aditya Mahajan, Ayush, Lavish, Dimple, Manjeet, students of BSc second year of MLN College, had come to visit Adibadri on Wednesday. During this, the five students started bathing in the rainy canal, out of which Aditya Mahajan started drowning in the deep pool of the canal.
When he shouted for help to save himself, his friends tried to save him. Aditya started sinking in the pool within no time. His friends informed the police. Police personnel arrived from Ranjitpur outpost and called divers from Yamunanagar. Divers took out Aditya’s body from the canal.
The police took the body in their custody and sent it for a postmortem. They also informed the relatives of the deceased.
