Sonipat: In Haryana’s Sonipat, police took a big action in Garh Mirkpur and arrested a youth with illegal weapons. Two pistols and cartridges have been recovered from his possession. Cases have been registered against the youth earlier as well. Police is interrogating him.
According to HC Amit of SAG Unit Sector 7 of police, he was at the base of Garh Mirkpur village with the team. During this time, information was received that a young boy Amit Kumar alias Pandit, resident of Baghpat UP, who is wearing a blue jacket and grey lower, is standing on Meerut Road Garh Mirkpur on the Yamuna Dam going towards village Jajal waiting for a vehicle. He has illegal weapons.
Acting on the information of the informer, police took Amit Kumar alias Pandit, resident of Baghpat, into custody. During the police search, 2 country-made pistols were recovered from the accused, including .315 and .32 bore pistols along with several cartridges.
The police have registered a case against the accused Pandit under the Arms Act at Bahalgarh police station. He is being questioned intensively. In the investigation, efforts are being made to find out from where the accused brought these weapons and for what purpose he wanted to use them.
This incident has created a stir in the area and the local people have demanded the police to further strengthen the security system in the area. Police officials say that they are investigating the case from every angle and important revelations may be made in this case soon.
