HC hearing on Sandeep Pathak’s petition today, Punjab government to respond

The Punjab and Haryana High Court will hear the petition filed by Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, who left the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the BJP. The Punjab government will inform the court whether any case has been filed against him and, if so, what sections have been imposed in the FIR.

Court had stayed his arrest

Previously, the High Court had stayed any action against Sandeep Pathak until Monday. Pathak had demanded that the court provide him with a copy of the alleged FIR filed against him and related information.

 Sandeep Pathak said – I have done nothing wrong

Sandeep Pathak says he has not yet been told where the FIR was filed. He claimed that he had not committed any act that warranted a case being filed against him. Fearing arrest, he approached the High Court.

Left AAP and joined BJP

Sandeep Pathak left AAP and joined BJP on April 24, 2026. Subsequently, reports emerged of two non-bailable FIRs being filed against him. The BJP and opposition parties attacked the Punjab government on this issue, while AAP leaders stated that action would be taken against those found guilty.
