Health Minister attacks BJP in Jalandhar: “Government working for the people”

Jalandhar: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh visited the Jalandhar Civil Hospital on Friday to review the progress of the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme. He reported an acceleration in the card-making process and stated that the government now aims to issue 10,000 cards daily.

The Minister stated that the opposition does not believe the Aam Aadmi Party government is working effectively for the public. He stated that previously, 5 to 10,000 cards were issued daily, but now this number has increased to 60,000.

Target of Card Making Increased to One Lakh

The Health Minister stated that the government’s next target is to issue 100,000 cards daily, with plans to increase it to 500,000. A target of 10,000 cards per day has been set specifically for Jalandhar district.

Hospital Pending Payments Released

Regarding payments to private hospitals, the Minister clarified that the government has released all pending payments. He assured that no patient will face any problems in receiving treatment. Officials from five to six departments are working in coordination to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.

Free Treatment and Special Facilities for the Elderly

Dr. Balbir Singh stated that approximately 70 percent of beneficiaries are receiving free treatment under the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme. Surgeries and stents for heart patients are also being performed free of charge under this scheme. Hospitals have been strictly instructed not to charge any additional fees from patients.

In addition, special arrangements have been made for making cards for the elderly so that they can receive benefits on a priority basis.
