Ludhiana: PCMSA Punjab announced indefinite suspension of services across all public healthcare set ups in the state from September 9 onwards over the unresolved issues of stalled assured career progressions, pending 6th CPC arrears amongst other demands.

The detailed plan of action will be announced on August 28.

While, welcoming the Government’s decision to expeditiously recruit 400 regular (PCMS) MOs after a gap of 4 long years, PCMSA has urged the government to effectively ensure that recruitment drives like these be held annually to serve as a replacement for the annual attrition of MOs.

PCMSA while expressing optimistism on the assurances by Punjab health minister Dr. Balbir Singh on providing adequate security arrangements, through outsourcing of security personnel at all 24X7 centres of the state by the end of this month, continues to remain sceptical, till the time the results are seen on ground.

Notably, PCMSA has been called for a meeting with the administrative secretary, department of health and family welfare on August 27 for holding discussions on the outstanding demands of the cadre.
