Jalandhar: The District Administration Jalandhar has ramped up its efforts to combat dengue and other vector-borne diseases. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal revealed that the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has established five special teams dedicated to conducting fogging operations throughout the city.
These teams operate daily across different wards according to a schedule devised by the Department, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the administration’s commitment to preventing dengue outbreaks and urged residents to remain vigilant in safeguarding their families from water-borne diseases.
He stressed the importance of adopting necessary measures, such as maintaining regular cleanliness and preventing water stagnation in homes, particularly during the monsoon season. These actions are crucial in mitigating the adverse effects of dengue.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that eliminating dengue larvae breeding sites is a key strategy in staying free from this disease.
He said that health teams were visiting homes to check presence of dengue larvae so as to take immediate action in cases where dengue larvae is detected.
He also mentioned that the administration had previously issued a helpline number for reporting water contamination to prevent diarrheal diseases.
