Prayagraj: With the arrival of March, the heat is showing its intensity in UP. Temperatures have crossed 35°C in cities like Jhansi, Agra, Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Varanasi. People are sweating at night, and ACs and coolers have started running in their homes. People on the streets are using towels and umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun.

Rain and light winds expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh for the next two days
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for eastern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas for the next two days. During this period, many districts are expected to remain cloudy, with light rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Winds can also blow at speeds of 25 to 30 kilometers per hour.

Experts predict: Temperatures could soon reach 40°C
Agra was the hottest place in the last 24 hours, recording 37.6°C. According to meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, temperatures may rise further in the coming days. The mercury could soon reach 40°C in many areas of the state. Due to the impact of a western disturbance, some areas may experience some relief in the next two days.

Doctors and administration advise on heat protection
People have been advised to avoid exposure to the intense afternoon sun and to drink plenty of water. They should take necessary precautions to protect themselves from heatstroke. The weather will be mixed for farmers; light rain may be beneficial for crops, but intense heat and wind pose a risk of damage to standing crops.

Why is the heat increasing in March?
According to Mahesh Palawat, Vice President of Skymet Weather, weather patterns are rapidly changing due to climate change. Summer is starting earlier than before, and temperatures are rising rapidly. The number of hot days is also increasing, and heatwaves are sometimes lasting longer than before. In the past few years, many cities across the country have broken old temperature records, with some places recording temperatures above 48°C.
