Heat wave hits Rajasthan in February, mercury reaches close to 36 degrees

Jaipur: Winter has almost ended in western Rajasthan, and the summer season has begun. Maximum temperatures in the state have surpassed 36 degrees Celsius. In many areas, minimum and maximum temperatures are being recorded 2 to 5 degrees above normal. Weather experts say the heat may increase further in the first week of March and around Holi.

Heatwave likely, mercury likely to reach 40 degrees Celsius

According to the Meteorological Department, if an anticyclone system forms and a heat wave blows from western Rajasthan, temperatures could reach 40 degrees Celsius. A warning has been issued for heatwave-like conditions in February itself.

Clouds in many districts, but bright sunshine during the day

In the last 24 hours, the weather remained clear in most districts, with bright sunshine during the day. Partial clouds covered some areas of Jaipur, Alwar, and Udaipur. On Tuesday, Barmer recorded the highest temperature of 36.3 degrees Celsius, leaving people facing intense heat.

Temperatures also rose in Jaipur

The maximum temperature in the capital, Jaipur, was recorded at 30.5 degrees Celsius. Mild humidity was felt during the day, while the minimum temperature was 17.2 degrees Celsius. Bikaner recorded a minimum temperature of 19.4 degrees Celsius, about 6 degrees above normal.
