Heavy rain warning in 6 districts of Punjab today: Yellow alert for 3 days, water level of Beas increased

It is raining in many parts of Punjab these days. There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places today and the next two days. The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert till August 15. The average maximum temperature has decreased by 0.6 degrees in the last 24 hours, which is now 3.5 degrees below normal.

Bathinda recorded the highest temperature of 36.3 degrees, while Patiala received 8.4 mm of rain. Meanwhile, the water level of the Beas River has increased after the release of water from the Pong Dam, causing flood-like conditions in Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, and Kapurthala.

Due to the water released from Harike Head Works in the Zira area, about 600 acres of land in 7 villages has been submerged in water. These include Nizam Wala, Sultana Wala, Chamdiyan Wali, Basti Ram Lal, Basti Khan, Laddu and Muthithyan villages. There is also a situation of waterlogging in Hussainiwala.

Heavy rain warning in 6 districts

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in six districts adjoining Himachal today. These districts include Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib. There is a possibility of rain in 75 to 100 percent area of ​​these districts.

While in the other 6 districts, there will be rain in 25 to 50 percent area at some places. These districts include Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Patiala. While there will be rain at some places in Ferozepur, Moga, Fazilka, Muktsar, Faridkot, Bathinda, Barnala, Sangrur and Mansa. There is a possibility of rain in 25 percent area here.
