535 Grams of Heroin Seized in Amritsar; Smuggling foiled by BSF Troops

Security agencies have once again achieved a major success in the international border area adjacent to Amritsar. According to reports, an attempt was made on Sunday night to smuggle a consignment of heroin via a drone in the Kalam Dogar Border Outpost (BOP) sector, located near the India-Pakistan border.

According to the information received, soldiers deployed at the border late at night suddenly heard the sound of a drone; they immediately went on high alert and cordoned off the entire area. The troops also opened fire in the direction of the suspicious drone in an effort to neutralize it and prevent any potential infiltration.

Drone Recovered from Fields and Surrounding Area

Shortly thereafter, the Border Security Force (BSF) and other agencies jointly launched a search operation. During the search, a drone was recovered from the fields and the surrounding vicinity. Additionally, a packet of heroin weighing approximately 535 grams was found.

Security agencies believe that this drone was dispatched from the Pakistani side of the border to deliver a consignment of narcotics into India. Following this incident, security arrangements across the entire region have been further bolstered. The BSF has intensified surveillance in nearby villages and agricultural fields to ensure that any such illicit activity can be intercepted promptly.

Officials stated that a thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway, with efforts focused on identifying the specific location from which the drone was launched. Authorities are also working to uncover the specific network operating behind this smuggling attempt.
