High court takes cognizance of Ranjeet Singh encounter case; notice issued to DGP Punjab

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken cognizance of the encounter case of Ranjeet Singh, accused of killing policemen at the Adian police station in Gurdaspur, Punjab. The High Court has summoned the Director General of Police (DGP) to the case.

He will appear before the court at 2 pm to submit his response. This hearing will be conducted via video conferencing. The family is raising questions about the encounter. Furthermore, the young man’s last rites have not yet been performed.

Let us tell you that this case has created a lot of controversy in the last few days. This case is mainly related to the Gurdaspur district, where many questions are being raised about the police action and the subsequent encounter after the killing of two police officers.

Apart from this, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav will appear in the Punjab and Haryana High Court through video conferencing. Apart from the Gurdaspur Ranjit Singh encounter case, the High Court has also taken cognizance of the cases of kabaddi players Rana Balachauria and Lawrence Bishnoi.

Will be heard alongside the Lawrence interview case

According to reports, this case has been scheduled for 2 pm today. Gangster Lawrence’s jail interview case will also be heard during the same time. The court has ordered the DGP to have his response ready. This is the second case in which the court has taken cognizance. Previously, the court also took cognizance of the murder of kabaddi promoter Rana Balachauriya in Mohali.
