Big News for Devotees: High-Tech Facilities Ready for Amarnath Yatra

The administration has intensified preparations for the Amarnath Yatra 2026. Once again, the pilgrimage is scheduled to start in Early July and will conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

The dates for the commencement of the Yatra are expected to be announced shortly. To ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage, the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and relevant government departments, along with Langar organisations from across the country, have already initiated their preparatory measures.

    Pilgrim Accommodation facility under construction

Construction activities have been accelerated to bolster pilgrim amenities along the entire stretch from Jammu to Srinagar. In particular, the construction of a modern, high-tech pilgrim accommodation facility (Base Camp) for Amarnath pilgrims in Sidhra, Jammu, has reached its final stages.

This project is being developed by ONGC at an estimated cost of approximately ₹40.20 crore. Similarly, a pilgrim accommodation facility with a capacity of 1,500 is also being constructed in Bijbehara with the support of ONGC.

Another pilgrim accommodation facility is under construction in Baltal. Its foundation stone was laid by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha during the Amarnath Yatra of 2025. Concurrently, additional accommodation capacity is being developed at the Nunwan Camp as well.

Scrutiny of Organisations operating Langar in Yatra

The Shrine Board has initiated the scrutiny process for organizations operating Langars. Meanwhile, devotees of Lord Shiva are awaiting the announcement of the dates for the pilgrimage applications.
