Himachal: After the SP, the long-serving DC and ADM to be transferred

Following the transfer of police officers, the state government has now begun preparations to replace IAS and HAS officers posted in districts for a long time. This will include the transfer of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and ADMs (ADMs). The Personnel Department, in consultation with the Chief Minister’s Office, has begun preparing a list. The government’s focus is on districts where Deputy Commissioners and other officers have been serving for two years or more.

Officers with renewed energy and perspective will now be sent to districts to ensure timely implementation of development plans and bring new dynamism to the administrative system. In many districts of the state, officers have been serving since 2023 or earlier. In some districts, administrative performance and public feedback are also being considered for the transfer of these officers.

The appointments are being made keeping in mind the development plans for the next two years. The state government has launched several ambitious schemes during its tenure. A review of the bureaucracy’s progress on these schemes is ongoing.

To ensure robust implementation of these schemes at the grassroots level over the next two years, the government intends to appoint officers in districts who can accelerate these programs and deliver results.

The Personnel Department is also compiling a list of officers at the secretariat level who have been in the same department for a long time. Consequently, several administrative secretaries are likely to face reshuffles. The Finance, Education, Public Works, Health, and Industry departments are considered the most likely to see changes.
