Himachal Weather: Avalanche warning issued for Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti

The National Disaster Management Authority has issued an avalanche warning for areas above 2900 meters in Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti. Rohtang Pass has received up to 90 centimeters of snowfall. The area around the Atal Tunnel Rohtang has received 45 centimeters of snow, cutting off Lahaul Valley from Kullu-Manali. Rain and snowfall are forecast in many areas today as well. Shimla and the surrounding areas are experiencing cloudy conditions with occasional sunshine.

Rainfall and Snowfall Data:
In the last 24 hours, Kalpa received 10.5 cm, Keylong 7.5 cm, Sangla 6.5 cm, Kukumseri 5.8 cm, and Hansa 2.5 cm of snowfall. Similarly, Manali recorded 22.0 mm, Sarahan 10.5 mm, Kasol 4.0 mm, Seobag and Sujanpur Tihra 2.0 mm, Bhuntar 1.4 mm, Nagrota Surian 1.0 mm, Guler 0.8 mm, Rampur 0.6 mm, and Kangra 0.3 mm of rainfall.

The minimum temperature recorded was 3.0°C in Shimla, 7.9°C in Sundernagar, 8.0°C in Bhuntar, -1.2°C in Kalpa, 4.8°C in Dharamshala, 7.6°C in Una, 8.5°C in Nahan, 5.5°C in Palampur, 5.0°C in Solan, 1.4°C in Manali, 8.3°C in Kangra, 9.1°C in Mandi, 8.0°C in Bilaspur, 6.4°C in Jubbarhatti, -3.6°C in Kukumseri, 3.5°C in Seobag, 9.0°C in Barthin, 5.2°C in Kasauli, 12.0°C in Paonta Sahib, 4.3°C in Sarahan, 7.0°C in Dehra Gopipur, and -6.4°C in Tabo. Temperature fluctuations expected.

Maximum temperature at major locations 
On Monday, the maximum temperature recorded in Shimla was 12.6°C, Dharamshala 18.0°C, Una 23.0°C, Nahan 17.3°C, Solan 19.5°C, Manali 7.0°C, Kangra 21.1°C, and Mandi 21.2°C.

The minimum temperature in the state is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours. Following this, the minimum temperature will rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next 3-4 days. The maximum temperature is also expected to gradually increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
