Himachal: Bomb Threats Received by Several Schools in Shimla; Parents Alerted

Several schools in the state capital, Shimla, have once again received bomb threats via email. This has created an atmosphere of fear among school management committees and parents. Citing security concerns, classes were suspended early in the morning at several schools across the city.

Following notification from school management, the Shimla Police have initiated search operations across all affected schools. School administrations informed parents via phone calls and text messages, urging them to immediately come and take their children home. Upon receiving this information, panic ensued among parents, who rushed to the schools to retrieve their children.

Prior to this incident, several private schools in the city had already received similar threats via email. However, no suspicious objects or explosive materials have been recovered during the search operations conducted so far.

Additionally, various government institutions within the state have also received such threats on multiple occasions. A matter of concern is that, in most of these cases, the police have not yet been able to apprehend the culprits; this is precisely why schools and government institutions continue to receive such threats frequently.

ASP (Headquarters) Abhishek stated that the schools have indeed received threatening emails, and the police are taking appropriate measures in accordance with established protocols to ensure security.

It is worth noting that the state has witnessed such threats in the past as well. In recent months, the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the State Secretariat, and the offices of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in several districts have also received threats of being blown up.
