Himachal Braces for Prolonged Wet Spell as Rainfall Surges 82% Above Normal

Himachal Pradesh has received 82 percent more rainfall than normal over the past week. There is no sign of any respite from rain or snowfall for the next six days. However, clear weather is forecast for the entire state today (Wednesday). There are signs of a change in the weather again tomorrow, March 26th.

Yellow Alert Issued for Multiple Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and snowfall is possible in the high and medium-altitude areas of the state on March 26. A yellow alert has been issued for thunderstorms in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts. Strong winds of up to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are expected in these areas, which could disrupt normal life.

Western Disturbance to Intensify Again

According to the Meteorological Center, the Western Disturbance will weaken on March 27th. During this time, only light drizzle may occur in higher altitude areas. However, starting March 28th, a stronger Western Disturbance will become active again, and its effects will be felt across the state.

Heavy Rain and Storm Alert for March 29-30

An alert for heavy rain and snowfall has been issued across Himachal Pradesh, particularly on March 29th and 30th. Thunderstorm warnings have been issued for all 10 districts of the state, except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur. Hailstorms are also expected in many areas during these days, which could damage crops and horticulture.

Temperatures Likely to Drop Again

Most of the cities in the state recorded below normal temperatures. Mandi recorded a maximum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius, down 3.9 degrees from normal, Shimla 16.4 degrees Celsius, down 1.0 degrees Celsius, Nahan 24.4 degrees Celsius, down 2.7 degrees Celsius, and Solan 23.2 degrees Celsius, down 1.6 degrees Celsius.

A slight increase in daytime temperatures is possible today, but they will begin to fall after tomorrow. People and farmers have been advised to remain vigilant due to the constantly changing weather.
