Clear skies for two days forecasted: Mandi battered with maximum rainfall of 1710 mm

Monsoon will remain weak in Himachal Pradesh for the next 48 hours. There is no alert regarding rain in any district today and tomorrow. This will speed up relief and rescue work. But after 2 days, the Western Disturbance is becoming active again. Due to this, a yellow alert for rain has been issued again on 12th and 13th September.

Due to heavy rains in the state, 680 roads are closed for traffic. This is affecting the movement of people. There are more than 150 routes in the rural areas of the state on which government and private buses have not been sent for 15 days. The crops of farmers and gardeners are not able to reach the markets.

Maximum rainfall of 1710 mm in Mandi

In this monsoon season, 44 percent more clouds have rained in the state than normal. Between June 1 and September 9, 663.9 mm of normal rainfall occurs. But this time 956.8 mm rainfall has occurred. Mandi district has received the highest rainfall of 1710.9 mm. Mandi district has suffered the most damage in the state.

Kangra district has also received 1698.2 mm rainfall, Sirmaur 1577.7, Una 1485.3, Solan 1388.1, Hamirpur 1364.7, Bilaspur 1301.8, Chamba 1021.7, Kullu 1041.6 and Shimla 1181.8 mm rainfall.

Property worth Rs 4156 crore destroyed

Government and private property worth Rs 4156 crore has been destroyed due to heavy rains in the state. There has been loss of both life and property in 137 incidents of landslides, 97 incidents of floods and 45 incidents of cloudburst. Due to the disaster, 1237 houses have been razed to the ground, while 5317 houses have suffered partial damage.
