Himachal: Clear Weather for Three Days; Rain Expected from the 17th April

The weather in Himachal Pradesh is expected to remain clear until April 16. There is a likelihood of rain returning from April 17 onwards. A change in weather patterns is forecast due to the activation of a Western Disturbance. The weather is likely to remain inclement across the entire state until April 19. Furthermore, a ‘Yellow Alert’ for thunderstorms and hailstorms has been issued for the districts of Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu for April 17.

On Monday, the capital city of Shimla remained under a cover of light clouds, while other districts enjoyed bright sunshine. According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, weather conditions are expected to change in certain high-altitude regions on the evening of April 16.

On April 17, rain is likely in the eight mid and high-mountain districts: Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, Mandi, Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur, and Lahaul-Spiti. The weather is expected to remain adverse across the entire state on April 18 and 19. In the plains districts—Una, Kangra, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur—the weather will remain clear until April 17. An increase in temperatures is forecast for the plains districts, while a decline in temperatures is likely to be recorded on April 18 and 19.

Minimum Temperatures: The minimum temperature recorded was -0.8°C in Keylong, followed by 1.0°C in Tabo, 2.8°C in Kalpa, 5.7°C in Manali, 7.8°C in Dharamshala, 9.5°C in Solan, 10.0°C in Shimla, 12.1°C in Nahan, 12.4°C in Kangra, 12.9°C in Mandi, 13.5°C in Bilaspur, and 13.8°C in Una.
