Himachal: CM Sukhu inaugurates Three-Tesla MRI Machine at IGMC Shimla

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a three-Tesla MRI machine at IGMC Shimla on Friday. Sukhu said that within a year, high-end machines similar to AIIMS Delhi will be installed at IGMC Shimla, Chamiana, Nerchowk, Hamirpur, and Tanda Medical Colleges.

After inaugurating the new three-Tesla MRI at IGMC, the Chief Minister said that the 20-year-old MRI machine at the hospital has been replaced. This reflects the government’s vision and systemic change, whereby, without any demand, the government is working to provide the best possible treatment to the common poor by installing modern machines.

The effort is to ensure that patients in Himachal Pradesh do not have to go to PGI and private hospitals for treatment.

Targeting the previous BJP government, he said that doctors in the Radiology Department reported that the machines at IGMC and KNH were outdated. The previous government, by not replacing them, only benefited its friends.

The previous BJP government received 70,000 crore rupees from the Centre, including 54,000 crore rupees under the RDG. Due to this, the machines were not changed for the convenience of the people. Why is the BJP against the state, why are they not ready to come together on RDG.
