Chemical Thrown at Woman Inside Himachal Court During Domestic Dispute Hearing

There was a stir in the court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class of Mandi. The incident took place on Friday when a man was accused of throwing a suspected chemical at his wife during the hearing of a domestic violence case. After the incident, there was chaos in the court premises and the police were called to the spot.

A woman from Balh sub-division was present in the court to hear a case related to her husband. In her statement to the police, the woman said that at around one o’clock in the afternoon, she was sitting in the courtroom with her advocate when her husband quietly came and stood behind her.

According to the woman, she suddenly felt a cold object fall on her back and right hand. When he looked at his hand, there was a liquid like oil on it. Looking back, she saw her husband with a small vial in his hand, with which he was throwing liquids at her.

Liquid thrown away with intent to cause harm

The victim has alleged that her husband had thrown some poisonous or intoxicating substance with the intention of harming her. The incident was immediately reported to the police. The police have conducted a medical examination of the woman and have launched an investigation to ascertain the nature of the fluid.

The Sadar police station has registered a case against the accused husband. Confirming the case, Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar said that all aspects are being investigated. Further action will be taken based on the investigation.
