Himachal: Cultivation of cannabis will be legalized in state, says Horticulture Minister Jagat Negi

Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi talked about the legalization of Bhang (Cannabis) cultivation in the state.  He said that cannabis cultivation would be legalized in the state by bringing it up in the next cabinet. Funding has also been provided to Nauni and Palampur universities for research on this issue.

He also said that he had discussed the issue of cannabis cultivation with the Chief Minister Sukhu and soon its growing will be legalized.

Targeting the opposition leader from the BJP, he said that it is inappropriate for Jairam Thakur to say that Sukhu is the government’s friend, despite those who have risen from the grassroots to support the government. He added that everyone knows what kind of friends Jairam Thakur had who were making allegations against the Congress.

Regarding the BJP fielding a Rajya Sabha candidate, he said that the BJP lacked a majority, so what could they achieve by fielding its own candidate? The BJP had previously murdered democracy, and this time, they failed. At a meeting of leaders in Bilaspur and Kullu for a third front, the Revenue Minister said that in a democracy, everyone has the right to act in their own way.
