The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education has provided significant relief to hundreds of students of the State Open School (SOS) whose examination fees could not be submitted due to technical reasons. The board has given these students a final opportunity to submit their fees by January 31, 2026.
Board Chairman Dr. Rajesh Sharma stated that the online application process for the March 2026 examinations for classes 8th, 10th, and 12th was completed on January 14. Despite this, the examination fees of many students could not be deposited into the board’s account, leaving their academic future uncertain.
A board review revealed that a total of 228 students had successfully submitted their applications, but the fee payment process could not be completed. This includes 17 students from class 8th, 97 from class 10th, and 114 from class 12th. In some cases, the fees were not paid at all, while in many other cases, the payment was reversed due to technical issues.
Considering the academic interests of the students, the board has issued clear instructions to the concerned SOS study centers. The centers have been directed to ensure that the pending examination fees of their students are deposited in person at the board headquarters counter by January 31, 2026.
