150 Stranded as Jahalma Drain Floods in Himachal, Rescue Underway

More than 150 locals and tourists were stranded after the flooding of Jahalma Nallah on the road connecting Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba district and Jammu in Himachal Pradesh. The local administration on Monday evening accommodated them in home stays, hotels and homes of local people. This morning, a temporary bridge was built, and people were sent to their respective destinations.

However, the vehicles of local and tourists could not leave yet, as the movement of vehicles could not be restored due to the sweeping of the road. Peas worth lakhs of rupees have also been stuck due to the road blockage. Now it is also being taken out of the drain on the other side through labor. Explain that after the melting of snow, there was a flood in the Jahalma drain yesterday.

Warning of heavy rain for next six days

According to the IMD, a thunderstorm warning has been issued in all other districts of the state except Kullu, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts today. At the same time, on July 1, there will be a yellow alert in all the districts of the state except Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.

There is a possibility of a major change in the weather from July 2. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in the state on this day. According to the Meteorological Department, a new Western Disturbance will be active on July 2, due to which rain activities will intensify.Heavy rains in most parts of the country on July 3

There will be a threat of heavy rains in many districts on July 3 as well. Heavy rain is forecast at a few places in Kangra and Mandi on this day. Apart from this, an orange alert has been issued for Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. There will be yellow alert in other districts of the state.

Rain will continue till July 5

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in the medium and low areas of the state on July 4 and 5. The administration and people have been advised to remain vigilant during the inclement weather.

Monsoon likely to arrive in Himachal after 4 days

The wait for the arrival of the southwest monsoon in Himachal Pradesh is increasing. The monsoon is running about a week behind schedule this time. However, the Meteorological Department has not yet released any definite date for the arrival of monsoon in the state. According to the department, if conditions remain favourable, the monsoon is likely to enter some parts of the state in the next five to six days.

At present, the southwest monsoon has advanced from parts of the Arabian Sea and reached Surat in Gujarat, Indore in Madhya Pradesh, Daltonganj in Jharkhand, Motihari in Bihar and Nepal border. The pace of its progress remains slow.

According to the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance that will become active on July 2 may help increase the pace of the monsoon. If the monsoon progresses at a normal pace, it may hit Himachal Pradesh in the next four-five days.
