Himachal: Former officer duped of Rs 49.65 lakh in name of online trading

By luring him with double the amount in online trading, the fraudsters cheated a former officer of Himachal Pradesh’s Palampur subdivision area of ​​Rs 49.65 lakh. Within a month, the former officer deposited this amount in the fraudsters’ account. When he did not get his money back while withdrawing the amount from the online trading platform, he realized that he had been cheated. On this, the former officer lodged a complaint at Cyber ​​Crime Shikari Police Station Dharamshala on Friday.

In the complaint, the former officer said that he used to invest money in trading earlier too, but stopped it for some time. In July, he got a link for online trading on WhatsApp. After clicking on this link, he joined a group and started talking to an unknown person in it. The fraudster asked him to invest money in an online trading platform and told him about good profits in it. He invested an amount of Rs 49.65 lakh through transaction. This month, when he tried to withdraw his money, it did not come out.

Many apps are giving false promises of giving loans, do not download them

The number of messages coming on WhatsApp regarding fake loan applications has suddenly increased. Cyber ​​police is constantly receiving such complaints that loan apps were downloaded by clicking on the link received from unknown WhatsApp numbers.

As soon as the app was installed, the mobile data was copied and the phone got blocked. After many such cases came to light, the cyber police has issued an advisory for the people.

The police has warned that unknown or unauthorized apps should not be downloaded at all, it can steal personal information from your phone, such as photos, contacts and bank details. If someone has downloaded such an app by mistake, then uninstall it immediately.

After this, change the passwords of all your social media and banking apps immediately. The police said that such apps can control your phone.
