Himachal Pradesh: Four doctors dismissed for being absent from duty at Chamyana Super Specialty Hospital

The Department of Medical Education and Research has terminated the services of four Assistant Professors at the Chamiyana Super Specialty Hospital with immediate effect. These doctors will now have no right to claim re-appointment in the future.

It has been reported that the doctors abandoned their posts without the approval of the state government and also failed to provide a satisfactory reply to the show-cause notice. Therefore, the department has taken this action under Rule 19 of the CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965.

According to the Health Secretary, Dr. Kunal Mahajan, Assistant Professor (Cardiology), Dr. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor (Pediatrics), Dr. Tushar Patil, Assistant Professor (Plastic Surgery), and Dr. Vikas Kumar, Assistant Professor (CTVS), were absent for extended periods without permission after serving for some time following their appointments.

This adversely affected patient services and the academic activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Consequently, the department has taken strict action against them.
