Himachal Government Order: Casual Clothing Banned for Officials

The Himachal Pradesh government has implemented a strict dress code for its employees, prohibiting the wearing of jeans, T-shirts, and party wear in offices and courts. Employees are also prohibited from commenting on government policies on social media.

According to guidelines issued by Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, all employees must wear clean, formal clothing in plain colors.

Different Rules for Male and Female Employees
Male employees must wear collared shirts with pants or trousers and appropriate footwear, such as shoes or sandals. Female employees must wear saris, salwar suits, churidars, kurta-dupattas, or shirts with trousers.

Officials have clarified that jeans and T-shirts are completely prohibited.

Strictness on social media too
The government observed that some employees were seen in casual attire and promoting government schemes or endorsing products on their personal social media accounts. Keeping this in mind, the old directives have been strictly enforced again.

Employees have been advised not to comment on government policies, political, or religious topics on social media. Sharing any official information without permission is also prohibited.

Violations of these rules may result in disciplinary action against the concerned employees.
