Himachal: Governor Kavinder Gupta Meets PM Narendra Modi; Discusses Key Issues Facing Himachal

Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavindra Gupta met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday. This was his first meeting with the Prime Minister since assuming the office of Governor of Himachal Pradesh. During the meeting, the Governor held detailed discussions on various matters related to the development and welfare of Himachal Pradesh.

He apprised the Prime Minister of several key initiatives being implemented in the state—specifically the ‘Drug-Free Himachal’ campaign and the ‘TB-Free Himachal’ campaign—which aim to improve public health and promote social welfare. Kavindra Gupta noted that Himachal Pradesh is taking pioneering steps towards natural farming. He stated that an increasing number of farmers and horticulturists in the state are gradually adopting chemical-free agricultural practices.

He emphasized the need to further promote and expand these initiatives so that the hill state can fully embrace sustainable and eco-friendly agriculture, thereby ensuring long-term environmental conservation and improved livelihoods for farmers.

Furthermore, Mr. Gupta underscored that the continued support and guidance of the Central Government would be crucial in accelerating the pace of these developmental initiatives. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts between the State and the Centre to achieve holistic development, enhanced public welfare, and sustainable growth across Himachal Pradesh.

Governor Kavindra Gupta also met with President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. During this courtesy call, the Governor briefed the President on the overall situation in Himachal Pradesh and the various ongoing developmental and welfare initiatives within the state. The President extended her best wishes to the Governor for the progress and welfare of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
