Weather Turns in Himachal: Storm in Shimla, Drizzle in Solan; Orange Alert for Hail in 5 Districts

The weather remains bad in most parts of the state, including the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Shimla. At 8:10 AM in Shimla, there was a brief period of strong wind. Some areas in Solan also experienced light rainfall. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy hailstorm at some places in five districts today – Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla, while a yellow alert has been given for Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur.

According to IMD – there are chances of rain in the state for the next six days. This will provide relief from intense heat to the people and will lead to a drop in temperature by three to four degrees. During this period, strong winds with a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour may also occur in many areas.

The western disturbance is expected to be more active tomorrow. Tomorrow, an orange alert for heavy hailstorm has been issued in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts, while all other districts except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur have a yellow alert.

Yellow alert in 7 districts on April 30

On April 30, a yellow alert has been issued in the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur. On May 1, the weather will also remain bad in most parts. On May 2, the western disturbance will weaken slightly, but on May 3, there is again a possibility of rain across the entire state.

A drought-like situation is developing in many parts of the state. People in the plains are unable to go outside during the daytime. Heatwaves have been felt in Una, Kangra, and Bhuntar in the Kullu district for the past three days. In such conditions, there will be relief from the heat next week after the rain.

Temperature in Una reached 42 degrees Celsius

The maximum temperature in Una has reached 42 degrees and in Bilaspur 38 degrees Celsius. The temperature in many cities has risen up to 7 degrees above normal. Last Monday, the temperature in Kangra was recorded at 36.7 degrees, 7.1 degrees above normal.

Along with the plains, the increase in temperature in the moderately high areas is also raising the heat. Shimla’s temperature has risen by 4.1 degrees above normal to 27.5 degrees, and Manali’s by 3.9 degrees to 27.2 degrees Celsius.
