Himachal heat rises, rain likely on April 25

Bright sunshine has been shining in Himachal Pradesh since this morning. The heatwave in the state will intensify today and tomorrow. The temperature in some cities will rise by up to two degrees Celsius. Especially in the lower areas of Una, Hamirpur, Mandi, Bilaspur, Kangra, Solan, and Sirmaur districts, it will be very hot during the day.

The temperature in three cities of the state has already reached 35 degrees or more. The mercury in Una has risen to 38.7 degrees Celsius, which is 3.3 degrees higher than normal. In Sundernagar, Mandi, the temperature has reached 35 degrees, 3.4 degrees higher; in Kangra, it has risen by 6.0 degrees to 35.2 degrees; and in Mandi, it has spiked by 2.2 degrees to 34.4 degrees.

High and medium altitude areas are also starting to heat up

Along with the plains, temperatures in medium and higher altitude areas are also rising. In Kalpa, the maximum temperature has seen an increase of 7.2 degrees compared to normal, reaching 25.3 degrees. Similarly, Shimla’s temperature has risen to 26.5 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees above normal, and Manali’s temperature has reached 26.3 degrees Celsius, 3.8 degrees above normal.

Relief from heat expected in two days

According to the Meteorological Department, relief from the heat is expected in two days. Last night, a western disturbance became active. Its effect on the mountains will last until April 28. On April 25, a yellow alert for thunderstorms was issued for the Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, and Mandi districts. On April 26, warnings were issued for Kangra and Kullu districts. According to the weather department’s forecast, if it rains, it will provide relief from the heat.
