Himachal: HRTC bus meets with an accident in Kullu; crashes into a divider

A Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus met with an accident near Hathithan Chowk in Bhuntar on the Chandigarh-Manali four-lane highway on Friday morning. A major tragedy was averted as only the driver and conductor were on board at the time of the incident.

According to reports, the bus, which had been traveling from Jammu to Manali, was being taken to a workshop for a routine check-up; consequently, the passengers had already been transferred to another bus.

Near Hathithan Chowk, the driver attempted to avoid a vehicle that suddenly appeared in front, causing the bus to collide with the road divider.

The bus sustained significant damage in the accident, though both the driver and conductor are reported to be safe. A crowd gathered at the scene following the incident, and the police are investigating the matter.
