Himachal: Union Minister JP Nadda launches tetanus and diphtheria vaccine at CRI

Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched the Tetanus and Diphtheria (Td) vaccine at the Central Research Institute (CRI) on Saturday. He gave the green light for the market launch of 1.5 million doses of the Td vaccine.

Following this, the vaccine will be supplied. Leaders of the CRI Kasauli Employees Union also presented their demands to the Health Minister. Several prominent leaders, including Shimla MP Suresh Kashyap and former Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal, were present at the event.

Earlier, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, who arrived in Kasauli, was warmly welcomed by members of the CRI Employees Union. He was also welcomed by the CRI manager.

During the meeting, JP Nadda said that this indigenous vaccine was developed through the efforts of CRI. This new vaccine will provide protection against tetanus and diphtheria to adolescents and adults, as well as pregnant women. The Td vaccine is designed to replace the tetanus toxoid (TT) vaccine, thereby ensuring protection against diphtheria.

He said that India has established itself as a world leader in the production of drugs, medicines, and vaccines. CRI Kasauli has a significant role in this. CRI Kasauli has a history of 120 years. The Td vaccine will now be made available under the Universal Immunization Program (UIP).
