Himachal: Man arrested with 810 grams of charas in Chidgaon, 60 grams heroin in Nalagarh

The police’s Detection Cell in Shimla district has made a major breakthrough in drug trafficking, recovering 810 grams of charas (hashish). The accused has been identified as Surya Dev, a resident of the village and post office Khabal, Tehsil Chirgaon, District Shimla.

According to the police, Head Constable Vishal Nanta, the investigating officer of the Detection Cell, Rohru sub-division, received a tip-off around 8:30 AM on Sunday that the accused, Surya Dev, was involved in selling charas in the Chirgaon market area.

Acting swiftly on the information, the police team formed a raiding party in the presence of two independent witnesses and reached near the Andhra Power House in Chirgaon. During the search, 810 grams of charas were recovered from the possession of the accused, Surya Dev.

A case has been registered against the accused under Section 20 of the NDPS Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway. SSP Shimla Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi said that the campaign against drugs will continue in the district. This action is part of the police’s anti-drug drive. The police have apprehended several major drug traffickers in the past few months.

Youth from Nalagarh arrested with 60 grams of heroin
A team of Bilaspur police has arrested a youth from Nalagarh with 60 grams of heroin. The investigation is ongoing. According to the information, the police team was patrolling the four-lane highway in the Swarghat area. During this time, a youth was found in a suspicious condition under a bus shelter near the Karmala bus stop. Suspicious, the police searched him and recovered 60 grams of heroin. The accused has been identified as Ranveer Singh (22), a resident of village Kuladi, Tehsil Nalagarh, Solan. Superintendent of Police Bilaspur Sandeep Dhawal said that the investigation is underway.
