Himachal: 19-Year-Old girl murdered in Mandi by slitting Throat, body found on road

In a horrific incident on Monday morning in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, a 19-year-old woman was murdered by slitting her throat and arms. The accused fled the scene after the crime and was later arrested by the police.

The incident occurred in the Gopalpur area of ​​Sarkaghat, where the accused, Vikas Patial (36), was apprehended by the police.

Attack a short distance from home
The deceased, Siya Guleria, a second-year B.Com student, had left home for college in the morning. She was about a kilometer away when the accused attacked her with a sharp weapon.

She died on the spot after being seriously injured in the attack. The accused fled after the incident.

A drunken maniac is suspected

According to police, the accused is believed to be a drug addict, and preliminary investigations indicate he committed the crime while under the influence. At present, no clear motive has emerged for the murder, and it is believed to be a frenzied killing.

Anger among villagers, police action

Following the incident, angry villagers caught hold of the accused, beat him with sticks, and demanded the death penalty. With the help of villagers, the police arrested the accused about two and a half kilometers from the forest.

Police and forensic teams collected evidence from the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Mandi Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar stated that the accused has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing. Police have assured strict action.
