Himachal: Minimum temperature below 5 degrees Celsius at 13 places; rain-snowfall expected on this day

The cold wave continues to grip the tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh. 13 locations in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius. Tabo, Kukumseri, and Keylong recorded temperatures in the minus 5 degrees Celsius range.

However, the cold wave is currently less pronounced in Shimla. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for dense fog in some areas of the plains and low-altitude areas of the state during the morning and late at night. Today, the capital Shimla and other parts of the state experienced sunny skies.

The minimum temperature was 9.2 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 2.7 in Sundernagar, 2.0 in Bhuntar, 2.0 in Kalpa, 8.4 in Dharamshala, 5.8 in Una, 10.3 in Nahan, 4.5 in Palampur, 2.6 in Solan, 2.7 in Manali, 6.2 in Kangra, 3.8 in Mandi, 6.1 in Bilaspur, 4.3 in Hamirpur, 8.8 in Jubbarhatti, 8.6 in Kufri, 5.9 in Kukumseri, 6.0 in Narkanda, 7.2 in Bharmour, 4.6 in Reckong Peo, 4.3 in Barthi, 9.0 in Paonta Sahib, 5.3 in Sarahan, 8.0 in Dehradun, 4.0 in Tabo, 9.9 in Neri, and 1.4 degrees Celsius in Bajora.

The weather will remain dry for a week.
According to the Meteorological Center, Shimla, the weather is expected to remain dry in all parts of the state until December 13th. On December 14th, the activation of a western disturbance may cause light rain and snowfall in some high mountain areas of the state. Rain and snowfall may occur in some high-altitude areas of Chamba, Kullu, and Kangra, including Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur.

Clear weather is forecast throughout the state from December 15th to 18th. Meanwhile, for 11 days in December, the state has recorded 100% less rainfall than normal. Not a single drop of rain has fallen in any district. However, rain and snowfall is expected in many places in the second week after December 15th.
