Himachal Municipal Poll Results: BJP Sweeps Mandi, Dharamsala and Solan; Congress Retains Palampur

Shimla: The BJP is heading towards a resounding victory in the municipal corporation elections held in Mandi, Dharamshala and Solan in Himachal Pradesh. In the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation results, the BJP has secured 11 seats, the Congress 5, and one independent candidate has won. In Mandi as well, the BJP has won 12 seats, an independent candidate has won one, while the Congress has managed to win only a single seat.

Solan Sees BJP Edge

In the Solan Municipal Corporation, six BJP candidates, one Congress candidate, and one independent candidate have won so far. Meanwhile, in Palampur, five Congress candidates have emerged victorious, whereas the BJP has managed to win only one seat. Celebrations have already begun following the announcement of the election results.

Counting Underway for ZP and BDC Seats

Apart from the four Municipal Corporations (MCs) in the state, vote counting is also underway for 251 District Council (ZP) seats and 1,684 Panchayat Samiti (BDC) seats.

Officials Take Oath Before Counting

Before the counting process, the staff members were administered an oath to conduct the vote tabulation with impartiality and integrity. Robust security arrangements have been put in place outside the counting centers.

Results to Be Announced by DCs and SDMs

The counting of votes for the ZP and BDC elections is being conducted within the premises of the respective Block Development Officer (BDO) offices. The official declaration of the winners for the District Council seats will be made by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), while the results for the BDC members will be announced by the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
