Himachal government closes 100 primary-middle schools with zero student strength and merged 120

The Himachal Pradesh government has closed 100 primary and middle schools with zero student strength. This includes 72 primary schools and 28 middle schools. Also, 120 primary schools with five students strength have been merged with nearby schools. A notification has been issued by the School Education Department in this regard on Tuesday.

The government has merged primary schools with five or fewer students with nearby GPS, GCPS, with immediate effect.

Children will learn Pahari dialect on Bag Free Day

On the other hand, in government schools of Himachal, children will now be taught Pahari dialect once a month (on Bag Free Day).

On Saturday, on Bag Free Day, children in schools of every district will communicate with teachers in their local dialect.

This decision has been taken as per the National Education Policy. On Tuesday, instructions have been issued to all Deputy Education Directors in this regard by the Directorate of School Education.
